Along with Promoting Your Podcast, Jason Van Orden asked us to get involved with the creation of the cover for his other book, Podcasting 101. Where his first book was geared towards current podcasters with the purpose of increasing their listenership, this book was aimed at those who are looking to begin the process of creating their very own podcast. It is written around a simple 4 step process that is accessible to anyone, from novice to professional.
Not one to follow the obvious path, I avoided any imagery that dealt with school and class schedules. The focus of the cover has instead been placed on the same 4-part creation process that is highlighted within. Once again, Jenniffer McCharen was called in to help with the photography. The main image highlights the fact that there’s a podcast out there waiting for a host, while the secondary images running down the side show the creation process and it’s 4 simple steps.
