Perfecting The Pitch: Creating Publicity Through Media Rapport is a completely new approach to your average public relations book. Rather than writing a “How to…” book from a PR Pro, Benjamin Lewis went directly to media professionals all over the world and asked them directly, “As a PR Professional, how do I get your attention?” That direct, hands-on approach laid the groundwork for the design of the cover.
On the cover we see a PR professional actively taking part in a conversation with a collection of reporters. It’s that shared conversation which is at the heart of this book, and that shared conversation which will make the reader a better pitcher in the long run.
To create the imagery, woodcuts were made and printed by hand. We wanted to take a hands on approach to the creation of the art to mimic the hands on approach taken directly to the media in the writing of the book. We may be biased, but we think it turned out wonderfully.
