For their first book, authors and business coaches Phyllis Sisenwine and Barbara Nelson collaborated to put together a list of 52 coaching tips that every lawyer should have at their disposal to increase their practice. Our job was to take those tips and present them in a well organized, yet visually stimulating way. We wanted to work well outside the realm of motivational book conventions, and instead hooked into the hands-on nature of business coaching for our launching pad. The graphics were created via linoleum block prints which gave a nice texture to the cover and interior pages. A primary color scheme was tweaked to give the book a bit of an aged feel, making it look often-used and well-loved. The impression is that these tips had been used by everyone else, so what are you waiting for.
On the inside, each tip was given it’s own spread, with the title on the verso page alongside an appropriate quote from one of Phyllis’ or Barbara’s former clients or colleagues. The quote helped lay the tone for the tip, and the arrow draws your eye to the recto page, featuring the tip itself and an action step to solidify the lesson into your everyday practices.
