Line/Navel Split 7"
- Client
Arms Reach Recordings - Date
Fall 2001
We’ve always had a soft spot in our heart for the Japanese pop-punk scene, with Navel being the cream of the crop (to our ears at least). When Arms Reach Recordings asked us to get involved with the design of the dust jacket for a split 7” they were doing featuring Navel alongside an up-and-coming group from Japan, Line, we literally exclaimed “Holy Hell Yes!” The covers were kept as minimal as possible, utilizing a single, strong image and an impactful type layout. The back cover was utilized as an informative panel in the absence of an actual insert. The top two thirds was split in half, each half being given to each band for band info, thanks and lyrics, with the bottom third being given to the label.
At this point in our lives we still loved fully justified type.
