In between the release of their first and second album, Gods Reflex, one of the most overlooked and under appreciated indie rock bands of the late 90’s, recorded a 4-song teaser EP. The aptly named Shifting EP laid the foundation for and opened up a path of maturity the band had embarked upon, which concluded when the band finished up work on their follow up album. For the artwork on the original pressing of the 7” we defined the word “Shifting” for the cover. An electrical circuit diagram was added showing the linear flow that this release was part of.
By the time the band’s second album was completed it was time to repress this 7”. Arms Reach Recordings took the opportunity to repackage the record as well. Having completed their growth, the artwork for the repress revolved around the idea that these 4 songs were a snapshot along the band’s journey, though a cloudy one without a definite beginning and an end.
