The Chicago Independent Radio Project is a foundation, based out of Chicago, lobbying Congress and the FCC to open up the low-power FM spectrum and tighten up restrictions on media ownership and consolidation. Once they are successful, the group will work towards bringing a new community based radio station to the Chicago area.
While we worked with CHIRP to build their website, a placeholder page was place on the server that introduced the world to the work they were doing. The site included their mission statement, links to friends & allies as well as media & interviews related to the cause. It served a simple purpose, introducing the world to the work the group was doing while we built their fully functioning website.
The bird from the logo was included on the construction equipment, beak still closed in a silence before their congressional storm.
